A comprehensive victory for Limerick as they defeated Dublin on a score line of 3-30 to 1-18. David O; Dailagh got two goals and Cathal O' Neill was extremely impressive for Limerick as he played a deeper role. Donal Burke was ever impressive for Dublin with some superb free taking. Manager John Kiely will be hopeful a result like this will stand to his side as they were extremely efficient with shot selection and scoring percentages.
Tipperary defeated Westmeath in the earlier fixture and it was anything but plain sailing. Mark Kehoe got 2 goals in a minute for Tipp and it looked like they would pull away there and then but this was not the case. Westmeath rallied and plugged on and with five minutes to go there was 4 points between the teams. Patrick' Bonner' Maher scored a late goal for Tipp to ensure the victory. Jason Forde was fantastic throughout with his free taking and Conor Stakelum proved why he is one of the most promising young forwards in Tipperary with a superb display.
