Cork's man-of-match Brian Hayes dropped a F-bomb on RTE as the Rebels celebrated beating Limerick to make the All-Ireland hurling final.

Hayes was immense in the Cork attack as they ended Limerick's four-year-run as All-Ireland champions.

The St Finbarr's man contributed 1-04 in a Croke Park thriller that went down to the wire.

And the 23-year-old was in buoyant mood in his post-match interview after picking up the man-of-the-match award.

Asked how it felt to be in an All-Ireland final, Hayes replied: "“Ah, it’s brilliant, f**k it”.

"It's everything we wanted it to be at the start of the year, and it's great to see the Cork crowd like this.

"We deserve it I think after the first two games we had, so we are just delighted.

Hayes added: "We believe 100% in our team and that is testament to Gary Keegan [high performance consultant]. We do a lot of work with him.

"We had belief regardless of the results, of getting pipped at the end, and we just believed and believed, and thankfully we got over the line today. "

After Hayes' interview, RTE presenter Joanne Cantwell joked: "Brian Hayes might be in a bit of trouble when he gets home."

Hayes and his Cork teammates can now look forward to an All-Ireland final with Clare in two weeks' time.
