Today's cold and foggy weather caused the postponement of Limerick v Cork but thankfully we had the spectacle of Waterford v Tipperary to save the day.

The Deise went into the tie knowing a victory would seal a spot in the Munster Hurling League final and judging by their first-half performance they were well aware of it.

They started strongly and had edged ahead of Tipp when Jack Prendergast scored to further extend their lead. A red card for Tipp man Robert Byrne looked to have all but ended the contest before the break. At half-time Waterford led by seven points.

Tipp came out in the second-half and began to chip away at Waterford's lead. They managed to get within four points when they found the back of the net themselves thanks to a goal from Sean Ryan. This meant that they were just a point behind.

Tipperary continued to push and levelled twice in the closing stages. But waterford held on for a famous two-point victory to secure their place in the final.

That's all from us
