“If I see him running for the bus and it’s even worse if he runs and still misses it,” she said.

Zak is hoping to charm the ladies with his chat-up lines, including: “Did you fall into a pile of sugar? Because you're looking super sweet.”

The new duo will join the ten other contestants who have already been coupled up and put through their paces to find love while learning a cúpla focal.

These include Andrew Jackson, 27, from Co Monaghan, Dubliner Saoirse Eireann Ní Chuilleagáin, 25, Dónal Breathnach, 30, from Waterford, Co Clare native Michelle McGrath, 28, and Ciara McMenamy, 28, from Dublin.

Femi Bankole, 29, from Dundalk, college student Seán Ó Maoilchiaráin, 24, from Limerick, Longford native Laura Pakenham, 21, Loman Jinks, 22, from Galway, and Carlow native Megan O’Regan Byrne, 24, make up the other contestants.

‘Grá ar an Trá’ sees Gráinne Seoige, James Kavanagh and Síomha Ní Ruairc run the rule over 10 singletons as they head to the Gaeltacht.

They will brush up on their cúpla focal while also looking for love. Their ultimate aim? To be crowned the ‘couple with the most focail’ and walk away with a grand prize to the value of €10,000.

Episode one saw the contestants attempt to split their time between flirting and expanding their foclóir through fun tasks and cheeky challenges including an egg and spoon race.
