The latest action from the First Dates Ireland restaurant aired on Thursday night as another batch of ready-for-love singletons entered the fray in the hopes of finding "the one".

One date on the night garnered particular attention and that was between Cork man Dylan and Dubliner Lynn.

After admitting that he was in search of his "fairy gothmother", First Dates matchmakers gifted Lynn to Dylan with the aim of satisfying that desire, reports RSVP Live.

After conversation between the two heavily tattooed individuals was smoothly enabled by their common interest in ink, viewers were taken aback when Dylan began recounting an uncomfortable date experience from his past.

"So one thing led to another and I brought her home — we went into the sitting room and… lo and behold I couldn’t perform," he told her. "It was like trying to stick a marshmallow in a keyhole."

He continued, describing how himself and his date returned to his bedroom to have another go, only for Dylan to belatedly realise that his younger brother was in his shared bunkbed at the time, something which left his poor sibling unamused.

"When I woke up the next morning I was just kinda like, 'that was a mad dream' and I turned over and [there she was]," Dylan said in a piece to camera. "I had to wake her up and be like 'here you have to go — if my parents get up and see you here I’m getting kicked out'."

Viewers of the show recoiled in unison, with one taking to X to say: "Why did you just tell that story though."

"You know some stories are just for the group chat," another wrote.

A third quipped: "Batman himself couldn't get this outta me on a first date."

Dylan and Lynn turned out not to be a match at the end of the night, but the date made for some good telly.

That wasn't the only newsworthy event on the night as viewers couldn't help but notice the a poorly-poured pint of Guinness.

"That is a poxy looking pint of Guinness," wrote one viewer.

Another agreed: "Man that is the worst pint of Guinness poured on tv ever."

A third chimed in: "A bit of a sales theme tonight, with the exception of that Guinness served up, wouldn't be ordering one in the Gibson."
