Former actress Aoibhin Garrihy has admitted she was “lonely” at the beginning of her marriage.

Aoibhin tied the knot with John Burke back in 2016 and the couple share three daughters, Hanorah, Liobhan and Isla, together.

But Aoibhin admitted she felt lonely when she first moved to Clare from Dublin as she didn’t have her “support network” around her.

She said: “It was hard, initially, for sure. I was leaving a career for one thing and then family and a support network, everything I knew, I suppose.

“And John was so busy with the business, so it was lonely at that point and I really needed to figure out what I was going to do and where I was at.

“I needed to figure out my own well-being. It feels like such a distant memory and now, the thought of loneliness when you have three kids, sounds glorious.

“You can’t even get peace going to the toilet,” she jokingly told the RTE Guide.

Aoibhin also confirmed she will be bridesmaid for her sister Doireann when she ties the knot to comedian Mark Mehigan.

But she remained tight-lipped on her little sister’s wedding plans, saying: “It’s very exciting and it’s gorgeous to see them so happy.

“Now that she’s finished Dancing with the Stars, Doireann can spend time planning it,” she added.
