Excitement is building among Irish Taylor Swift fans as the pop superstar finally brings her record-breaking Eras Tour to Dublin this weekend.

The Bad Blood singer is set to perform three dates at the Aviva Stadium on June 28, 29 and 30, with tickets for all three gigs selling out within minutes of going on sale last July.

The huge demand to see Swift perform at the Aviva Stadium this weekend has led to some fans going to extreme measures in a bid to land a coveted ticket.

Some Irish Swifties have revealed how they have been scammed out of large sums of money after trying to purchase tickets for one of the singer’s concerts online, with one fan revealing they lost out on €1,000 after falling victim to scammers.

The fan, who shared their story on Reddit, revealed that they were scammed out of the huge sum while attempting to secure Eras Tour tickets for their niece.

"I recently tried to buy Taylor Swift tickets for Dublin but got scammed out of 1000 euros," the anonymous fan wrote.

"My niece was so excited, and I feel terrible. PayPal couldn't help me recover the money. I'm hesitant to try again as I can't afford more fake tickets."

The Irish Swiftie said that they signed up for the Ticketmaster pre-sale "and went through all the steps" but still missed out on a chance to buy tickets.

"I spent a month checking Ticketmaster every day, hoping to find tickets because my niece really wanted to go," they wrote.

"When I saw someone selling what looked like genuine tickets online, I guess I let my desperation get the better of me and made a foolish mistake."

The scam victim issued a warning to other Swifties in the hopes others don't fall prey to scammers looking to profit off of the demand for tickets.

"I’m going to report it to the Guards to help prevent others from going through the same ordeal," they said.

"If you're reading this in the future and want Taylor Swift tickets, please stick to the official TicketMaster website for resales and don’t get tempted by other ways to get tickets like I did."

Bank of Ireland recently issued a ticket scam warning to fans of the global music sensation ahead of her Dublin gigs this weekend.

Highlighting the likelihood of multiple fraudulent attempts by scammers trying to reach out online to ticketless Swifties, the bank has produced a list of signs to look out for if you are suspicious of an offer:

  • Selling tickets for sold-out gigs or for prices which are too good to be true.

  • The seller is looking for a quick sale.

  • Don’t give you the opportunity to see the ticket in person.

  • Being pressured to make a quick decision.

  • Adverts or messages that pop up on your social media (fraudsters can pay the social media companies to have their ads in front of you).

They also say that you should do the following:

  • If you think you have been the target of a scam, contact your bank immediately so that the bank can try to take action to stop a fraud in progress and potentially recover funds.

  • Bank of Ireland customers can call the Fraud Team 24/7, on the Freephone line 1800 946 764.
