Since then, stars like Sophia Bush, Chad Michael Murray and more have continued to shine in their acting careers since their time on the popular teen drama.

One Tree Hill Stars - Where Are They Now

Bethany Joy Lenz

Bethany Joy Lenz played the lovable Haley James Scott in One Tree Hill. Since then, she’s left her mark on several Hallmark movies and written a memoir. In her book, Dinner for Vampires, Bethany recalls her time spent in an “abusive, high-demand group” that she calls a cult. She also cohosts a podcast with her One Tree Hill costars Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush called “Drama Queens.”

Lee Norris

Fans remember Lee Norris as the character Marvin “Mouth” McFadden on One Tree Hill. Lee married Andrea Norris in 2011, and he still appears in TV shows and movies. He even joined up with some of his OTH castmates for a Lifetime movie called A Christmas Wish in 2019.

Sophia Bush

Sophia played Brooke Davis in One Tree Hill and she’s one of the only members of the original cast who appeared in all but one episode of the show. After One Tree Hill concluded, Sophia went on to star in several films and TV shows, including Chicago P.D. and the comedy John Tucker Must Die.

James Lafferty

When fans first met James Lafferty as Nathan Scott in One Tree Hill season 1, he was one of the series’ antagonists who viewers loved to hate. However, over time, his character softened up and he became a fan favorite. Since his time on One Tree Hill, James cowrote and starred in the series Everyone Is Doing Great with his OTH costar Stephen Colletti.

Paul Johansson

Paul Johansson’s character Dan Scott was easily one of the most unlikable characters in One Tree Hill. While he had his ups and downs over the show’s 187 episodes, he was involved in one of the series most notorious storylines when Dan was waiting for a heart transplant, only for the donor organ to be eaten by a dog. After he said goodbye to One Tree Hill, Paul went on to have roles in TV shows like Mad Men, NCIS and more.

Stephen Colletti

Fans first met Stephen in 2004 on MTV’s Laguna Beach as Kristen Cavalleri and Lauren Conrad competed for his heart. After Stephen parted ways with reality TV, he was cast in the role of Chase Adams in One Tree Hill. In 2018, starred in the Lifetime movie Hometown Christmas, and in 2021, he teamed up with James Lafferty for the Hulu series Everyone Is Doing Great.

Chad Michael Murray

If there was ever an early aughts heartthrob, it was Chad Michael Murray. Chad played Lucas Scott, the underdog in One Tree Hill. While Chad held a pivotal role in the series, he left the show at the end of season 6 before its finale in 2012. He made at least one guest appearance after he said goodbye, and since then he’s taken on several Hallmark films and the TV series Sullivan’s Crossing.

Hilarie Burton

Hilarie Burton played the ultimate cool girl Peyton Sawyer in One Tree Hill, who was dating Nathan Scott when the series premiered, only to end up with Chad’s Lucas Scott by the time she left the show. Hilarie also said goodbye to One Tree Hill at the end of season 6, and afterward she went on to cohost the podcast “Drama Queens,” and she nabbed recurring roles in popular shows like White Collar and Grey’s Anatomy.

Jackson Brundage

One Tree Hill didn’t shy away from controversial topics and in season 4, Haley and Nathan became teen parents. Jackson Brundage played Jamie, the son of Haley and Nathan, and was a popular character all the way up to the finale. However, after his time on One Tree Hill, Jackson decided to call it quits and he retired from acting in 2015.

Barbara Alyn Woods

Barbara Alyn Woods started out in a recurring role on One Tree Hill as Nathan Scott’s mom, Deb Scott. Since her time as Deb, Barbara has appeared in The Goldbergs and had a recurring role in the horror series Chucky.

Bryan Greenberg

Bryan Greenberg played single teen dad Jake Jagielski who fell for Peyton Sawyer in one of the first seasons of One Tree Hill. While Bryan only appeared in three seasons total, he’s previously said that’s the character so many of his fans still love the most. After leaving OTH, Bryan was cast in several popular TV shows including The Mindy Project and The Tick.
