He’s on the road to recovery. Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro recently admitted that he entered a rehab facility. Speaking with Us Weekly, the father-of-one, 33, got candid about his journey. Scroll through the gallery below to see what he had to say.
Ronnie, who has a 10-month-old daughter named Ariana Sky, told the publication: “I decided to go to treatment because I wanted to be a better person, a better father for my daughter.”

Where It All Began …
As many of us have witnessed during his stint on Jersey Shore and Jersey Shore Family Vacation, Ron likes to party. However, he began to notice that his drinking was getting out of control and it started to catch up with him.

Rock Bottom, No More!
“Eventually, all the bad decisions I was making were going to lead me to places that I didn’t want to be. I wanted to be led to the place that I am now – that’s happy, healthy and the best role model for my daughter,” he continued.

The MTV alum confessed that despite his dedication to his sobriety and an overall happier lifestyle, he still has a ways to go.

“I think it’s a chronic disease. It’s a progressive disease. I’m still struggling,” Ronnie described his alcohol abuse.

He Emphasized a Lack of Control …
“You stop and you start up again, and it’s worse than when you stopped. You’re just like, ‘Wow, I thought I had this under control,’ but at the end of the day, it has full control over you,” Ronnie confessed.

Ronnie’s admission that alcohol has controlled his life rings true to many who struggle with addiction.
While the popular reality series is primarily known as a show where the roomies “get crazy, get wild,” we have no doubt that Ronnie will be able to focus on bettering himself.

He Has so Much Support!
Ronnie’s longtime friend and castmate Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has also had his fair share of struggles when it comes to sobriety. However, he came out on the other side stronger than ever.
As fans saw in previous seasons of JSFV, there’s nothing that these seven GTL enthusiasts can’t overcome. We know that they’re all rooting for Ronnie’s success — and so are we!
As of now, MTV has yet to release the exact premiere date. However, you can expect to see your favorite reality cast back on TV come summer 2019. Fans can also expect Ronnie’s recovery process to be a part of the storyline.
