The first images from Heartstopper Season 3 are finally here

Earlier today, Netflix dropped teaser images for their hit gay teen romance Heartstopper. With season 2 of the show concluding last year, fans have been eager for literally anything on the next season.

They didn’t do this normally though – Netflix setup a whole social media scavenger hunt for fans to piece together clues, culminating in a password to access the images through the site Tudum.

The password was itself a clue for what’s to come, spelling out the name “Oliver.” Readers of the original book series might remember Oliver as Charlie’s younger brother, who has not yet appeared in the TV adaptation. Season 3 will be his first ever appearance, but this time as Charlie’s cousin.

With the first episode being entitled “Love,” she says, “we are doing something that will feel very different, and people will be surprised, and I can’t wait.”

“Season 2 ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through Season 3. While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up. Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”
