Freedom of Information - Your right to ask

A person resident in the Island has the statutory right to make a request for information held by any public authority listed in Schedule 1 to the Freedom of Information Act 2015.

The person making the request is known as an ‘applicant’ and can be an individual or any body of persons, corporate or unincorporated. 

If you do not receive a response to your FOI request, or you are dissatisfied with the response and the subsequent outcome of the review by the public authority, you may make a complaint to the Information Commissioner.
