2024 Indianapolis 500 breaks record with 13.3 million total viewers on NBC and Universo

The 2024 Indianapolis 500 brought in record numbers for NBCUniversal.

According to a post on X from NBC Sports PR, the over nine hours of coverage saw 13.3 million total viewers across NBC and Universo.

"The MOST EVER for an Indy 500 on NBCU platforms," the account tweeted.

The total included the pre-race, weather delay, racing and post-race activities. The previous record was 12 million total viewers in 2019.

Earlier in the week, NBC announced viewership for the 108th running of the Indy 500 increased by 8%. Also, after the blackout in Central Indiana was removed due to the weather delay, NBC said Indianapolis had an 18.15 household rating and a 54 share.
