Roger A. Blocchi, age 70, of Indianapolis, passed away July 2, 2024, after a several year battle with ALS.

Roger was born in Rochester, New York on July 18, 1953, to the late Roger A. Blocchi and Florence F. Blocchi. Roger was an IT Professional with 30+ years' experience in various aspects of Information Systems. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Viet Nam War. He had many friends and colleagues, traveled the world, and lived his life to the fullest.

Survived by his mother, Florence F. Blocchi; siblings, John (Audrey) Blocchi, Carol Cala (Perry), Bernard (Diane) Blocchi of NY and Paul (Cathy) Blocchi of NJ; loving nieces Corinna Lake (Tom), Mary Lynn Cala, Gina Blocchi (Joseph Starr) of NY and Mary Rose Blocchi (Jon Pierce) of FL. Also survived by stepdaughter, Christine Holder, step-grandchildren, Brandon Traas, Damian Traas (Alicia Scott), Shayla Traas and Marcus Traas of IN, and Brian Traas of NY.

Special thanks to his step-grandchildren, Shayla and Damian for his care at home, his caretakers at the VA ALS Clinic, his caregivers at Altenheim, his Hospice nurses, and his Visiting Angel, Angie Brown, who supported him daily in his final days.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 3PM at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 1PM the time of service. Burial and military honors will immediately follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker, IN.

A memorial gathering will be held in Rochester, NY at a later date.
