“Fire away lads…” Pete O’Mahony bounces into the room and in the half-hour or so until he bounds out of it again, he speaks publicly for the first time in months about a conflicted recent past, a sparkling present bursting with promise and the future he never thought might be.
It seems he is carrying himself lighter than at any time before in his long career, chatting about the Cork hurlers before heading for the gate.
