For a section of Georgia supporters who attended their historic and thrilling loss to Turkey in Dortmund on Tuesday, it was a moral victory in more ways than one.

Willy Sagnol’s side acquitted themselves brilliantly on their major tournament debut, and it was only erratic finishing in the dying stages that cost them a famous result. They have been widely acclaimed for their efforts.
