Three-time Olympian Heike Holstein finished in an impressive fourth place with her mare Sambuca in the Freestyle to Music at the 3-Star Dressage International in Keysoe, England on Saturday night.

At home a week earlier, the pair posted a personal best Grand Prix winning score, but an uncharacteristic mistake saw them having to settle for ninth place at the British fixture last Friday.

Just 24 hours later, the Kildare rider stormed through a confident and harmonious freestyle display to claim fourth in the class, won by Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin.

Underpinning the rising strength of Irish dressage, 16-year-old Martha Jobling-Purser produced a spectacular run in the pony classes at Keysoe with a double of wins before taking runner-up spot in yesterday’s FEI Pony Freestyle.

In showjumping, Denis Lynch and Spring Dark won the 2-Star Grand Prix in St Tropez, while at the Sunshine Tour in Vejar de la Frontera Spain, Dermott Lennon won Friday’s Big Tour Speed Challenge.
