A man attempted to knock his own family home with a digger before later threatening gardaí with a machete when they called to the scene, in a major incident that took place in a remote part of North Kerry late on Monday night.
The man’s family were understood to have been left terrified by the incident, in what had been the second major disturbance caused by the man on the day.
