The Big Tech Show: The Unicorns – From a caravan in Meath to raising $120m in funding with ThreatLocker CEO Danny Jenkins

The Big Tech Show

How did Danny Jenkins go from living in a caravan in county Meath to creating one of the world's biggest cybersecurity firms? How close did he come to failure? And why did he choose to focus on small businesses’ cybersecurity?

On The Big Tech Show this week, Adrian talks to Danny Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of ThreatLocker IT security firm.

Danny’s entrepreneurial story starts out with a ferry trip to Ireland. The CEO fell asleep with his suitcase beside him which had all his saved-up money in it. Unfortunately, his suitcase was stolen so Jenkins had to get a job in a bar in Ireland just to get by.

The job was in Kilmessan in county Meath, which was a live-in job working in a bar. The job included the perk of accommodation in the form of a caravan where Danny stayed.

The tech savvy entrepreneur then founded a company called MX Sweep before moving to Malta for just under a year. He said the reason behind this was the weather and the lower taxes.

The Englishman then moved to Florida with his young family where he had started an email sorting business called Enable, which he eventually sold to a UK firm, and it was following this that he co-founded ThreatLocker IT security firm.
