The Big Tech Show: Bitcoin is soaring again — is it heading for $100,000? Or maybe $1m?

The Big Tech Show

What’s going on with Bitcoin’s jump in value? Is it a bubble? And will the cryptocurrency hit $100,000?

This week on The Big Tech Show, Adrian is joined by adjunct assistant professor in technology trends at Trinity College Dublin and head of stablecoin at MSX Limited, Lory Kehoe.

The crypto expert began by explaining that exchange traded funds (ETFs) now make it easier for the average person to buy and sell bitcoin. The process of buying the digital currency was previously more difficult to access but now big organizations like BlackRock, Fidelity and Grayscale in the US are buying hundreds of thousands of bitcoins.

In Ireland the individual buyer can enquire with an ETF broker about buying a certain ETF and the broker will either say yes or no, depending on availability.

The adjunct professor says people are still treating this cryptocurrency as an investible asset and seeing it more as part of their portfolio that can both appreciate and depreciate.
