Let me get my public transport credentials out of the way first. I use the bus almost every day to get into Dublin city centre. When I get off the bus, I have about a 20-minute walk to work. If I have to go somewhere outside Dublin, I take the train when I can because I like using trains.

I do have a car, or more accurately, my wife does. She uses it mainly because there is no convenient bus service to her workplace. Oh, and we recently got rid of our 12-year-old diesel car and bought a three-year-old hybrid instead.
