University staff developing new Leaving Cert science subjects have distanced themselves from crucial syllabus changes over concerns about inequality and poorly resourced schools.

It raises serious questions about the Government’s ability to reform biology, chemistry and physics exams by introducing a continuous assessment model to ease pressure on students.
