Lots of farmers complain about the Straw Incorporation Measure but it’s been great for this Meath farmer

‘It has helped return organic matter and nutrients to the soil, while putting a base under the price of straw, which for years was devalued’

November is a time on tillage farms to reflect on the year gone by, decide what worked and what didn’t, complete farm records and try to implement a plan for the year ahead based on what was learned along the way.

One thing I definitely learned was that once enough water falls on heavy Meath land, all the plans in the world can go out the window.
