A €60m-per-year support package for the next five years is necessary for the tillage sector to hit a target of 400,000ha by 2030, according to the Report of the Food Vision 2030 Tillage Group.
The report says additional supports would result in a significant positive cost-benefit due to savings in compliance costs because of reduced emissions and a greater contribution from the sector to the wider economy.
