John Fagan: Selling silage is bad business for me – I reckon it costs me €35/bale to make it

I’m planning my silage making based on the meteorological maxim that the weather at the beginning of the Leaving Cert is generally the best we get for the whole summer.

I re-stitched in some clover to fields that were infested with docks after reseeding last year. I also took the time to repair some damaged, patchy fields from the winter as I hate looking at them.
