Ulster Farmers’ Union slams proposal to ban fertilisers with phosphorus in effort to save Lough Neagh

Organisation brands the plan ‘irresponsible’ and likely to hit livestock farmers in the pocket

The Ulster Farmers’ Union has branded a Stormont proposal to ban fertiliser containing phosphorous as “irresponsible”.

It comes after the Belfast Telegraph revealed the suggestion is one of seven recommendations from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to protect Lough Neagh from further damage.
