Dairy sector to up the ante on Government over EU Commission seat

The Irish dairy industry is gearing up to lobby senior government ministers in a bid to secure the Environment Commissioner portfolio in the upcoming reshuffle of the European Commission.

It is also understood that Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue, is among those in the running to be appointed as Ireland’s next Commissioner.
