The first machinery shows of the year provided signs that electric propulsion is making its way into the lighter end of the agri vehicle market.

The Millstreet show featured the Powerland Tachyon electric quad, an Indian-manufactured machine with a serious spec list including four-wheel drive, disc brakes back and front and a claimed range of 110km — this could be more like 60km in the real world but that’s easily enough on most Irish farms.
