It was all about autonomous machinery as the industry’s big guns unveiled their latest hardware at the Agritechnica show in Germany, with the technology improving at a rapid rate and driverless tractors set to become widespread across the world in a short time-frame. Agritechnica, Europe’s largest farm machinery show, hadn’t been held for four years because of Covid, and the industry’s big players turned up for the event in Germany with a bumper load of new arrivals and upgrades.
The take home from the biennial show is that the move towards autonomy and lower-input farming is speeding up.
