Leading the way among the inventions picking up prizes at the Tullamore Show is a money-saving device that can automatically switch a water pump from mains to solar power when supply crosses the required threshold.

Mayo-based Connacht Agri Supplies’ innovative software took first place in the inventions in the Farming Independent-sponsored Renewable Energy section, and company director Robert Hession says the idea came about following a request by farmers.
