Even in the modern farming family, gender continues to determine who does what at home
Women still do the bulk of household work. Gender and work studies across the world show that while things have become slightly more balanced in recent years, in households headed by opposite-sex couples, the overwhelming bulk of the cooking, washing, cleaning and childminding is done by women.
To put it more simply, the number of men who do their fair share of household chores remains stubbornly low.
