Growing up on a relatively small suckler farm, you learn the value of money very quickly. You get used to one big cheque arriving every year through the Single Farm Payment and another when you sell your weanlings.
Both of these sums of money vanish as quickly as they appear since you then have to pay all the bills that have been mounting for the last year.
