Why Ireland’s beef with Brazil is such a mismatch – they are barely aware of our existence

Brazil is 100 times bigger than Ireland, and their agri-business is worth four times our entire GDP. They don’t listen to protests from our activists or farmers. But pressure from more powerful places is slowly forcing them to change the way they treat their environment

Irish farm lobbyists often claim that if our island nation were to reduce its beef production, Brazil would cut down more of the Amazon and fill the deficit.

This very well may come true, and the reality is that the agriculture Goliath Brazil, for the most part, doesn’t even know or care that the David-like Ireland exists.
