Numbers continue to appear, with many marts reporting turnouts typical for this time of the year — and some of the bigger sales yards getting bigger entries last week.

Among those reporting a surge in numbers in the east was Carnew, where Saturday’s entry reached 782 plus 140 calves, while New Ross had 671 animals, on the same day.
