Almost 20 years ago, John Michael Foley was at something of a crossroads. Well, he was actually on the main road — and that was the problem.

Recently elected to Cork County Council for the first time, back in 2005 he was still milking his pedigree herd twice daily at his farm near Timoleague in West Cork. But the traffic brought a change of plan.
