The fall in prices over the last few weeks has been most severe for lighter and plainer stock, but all weights of bullocks and heifers have been affected.

Indeed, when the trade becomes uncertain, it can be the better animal that takes a beating, and across the country last week, the higher-quality animal from 300-500kg dropped 11-13c/kg or €30-65/hd.
