It’s fun, it’s absorbing, and above all, it’s an important boost for playwrights and actors in these hard times. That’s Theatre for One, a Landmark production for Cork Midsummer Festival. One actor and one audience member are enclosed in a booth for five to 10 minutes and a play takes place. And in this case, each of the new playwrights has been mentored by an experienced author. Everyone wins.

I saw three of the 12, a limitation dictated by time and print space, at the Opera House Plaza in Cork.
