John Galliano is let off the hook in 'High & Low'

Hilary White

While artistic director at Dior, John Galliano was filmed at a Paris cafe in 2010 delivering a racist tirade to fellow customers. It was the third such incident at the same cafe, and while the language doesn’t warrant repeating, suffice to say it featured antisemitism of the darkest hue.

Kevin Macdonald (Whitney, Touching the Void) opens this doc portrait with that footage, using the revered fashion designer’s fall from grace as a framing device.
