Ilca Moreno Zego and Louise Mauroy-Panzani in 'Ama Gloria'

Hilary White

Kleenex at the ready for this merciless French drama that combines a cute child, a beloved nanny, and a love too pure and sweet for this lousy world.

Six-year-old Louise Mauroy-Panzani is revelatory as Cleo. With her mother deceased and father at work, her life revolves around nanny Gloria (Ilca Moreno Zego). The love they share is implicit and steadfast, but following a phone call one day Gloria has to return home to Cape Verde to look after her own family.
