After surveying people working in the UK dentistry industry, Cliniccompare.co.uk rounded up some of the best responses.

The NHS recommends brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. It recommends a healthy lifestyle, including eating well, not smoking and limiting your alcohol intake. It also stresses the importance of having regular check-ups.

DIY dentistry is not recommended.
