Halloween Kills (2021)
The end result was good...
First the bad. The movie is predictable and contains typical horror, stupid characters, continuity with original without change at least at first. Some characters need more characterization. The mob mentality I like but has its problems. The fact that it looks like the entire town in the hospital becomes a violent mob is hard to believe, but at the same time if there is a horror at this level and you feel you can stop it I can get behind a mob mentality which brings me to the good.
The movie has a different element that I like. The mob while flawed is a great piece often depicted with great art. Anthony Micheal Hall plays a believable version of Tommy Doyle. The strides are all believable. And the ending plays great homage to both original Halloween, this Halloween and Psycho, while it keeps to its roots and has a truly shocking one last scare ending as you would almost think Anthony Micheal Hall was the one last scare which is he not.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
A Good Movie with obvious problems.
I have always been a Sat Wars fan,and the events while a fan doesn't necessarily want to see, i understand we need to. I will start with the good points, great acting, a decent and mostly like-able plot and while it is similar to Empire Strikes Back, it does a good job at being different. It' entertaining, keeps you engaged and the characters offer great growth.
With that in mind, here are the big problems. First Benicio Del Toro's character was utterly useless. It's sad because he did such a masterful job but starting with his entrance "Must find the code breaker" to being at casino and his betrayal having nothing to do with the plot as the events would have happened anyways. This could have been fixed up so much better. Second is the fact that t still did match Empire Strikes Back's plot. I know I mentioned it as a good thing, it's also an obvious problem. The film also points to the fact that Disney had no plan or cohesion with its trilogy plans.
One last thing, I like how there was no huge lightsaber battle for Luke, the whole franchise is about those battles and this film explored a new way to use the force and I think its brilliant. So while it is good, I'm glad Rian Johnson is gone, he made mistakes that need fixed.
What do I want to see fixed?
1. Rey's parentage retconed to something important. I would love for Mara Jade or as I sometimes read Jar Jar Binks. Kidding about the latter.
2. More evil than just Kylo, while I like the death of Snoke as its apprentice to master properly, he is still angry emo kid hoping for attention.
3. Del Toro to actually have a needed role.
4. More from Luke to show new strengths of the force.
5. A great ending plot completely different to Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
An Honest Review. It is worthy... but lacks and entertains
Simply put story wise it is a reboot and unimaginative. Plot wise, it could make sense for a trilogy. Creativity was not there but new characters are likable and well done. Plot holes ruin it. Remember when you watch this this is a reboot/sequel that lacks creative story.
It can be reborn still it all depends on episode 8. If that one is yet another reboot type then good bye Star Wars as we know, if it become creative and explained several key points then wow.
There is no spoilers just explaining what to expect. After watching this if you love action, you will love it, if you love movies with action and comedy you will love it. If you are a Star Wars Fanatic who loved Episodes 4,5,6 story wise, be forewarned it lacks. This can make it worrisome as it seems after this one could go the bad route. I will reserve my judgment until Episode 8.
Note to the writers, producers and new director if you see this, get creative with the story and explain the holes well.
That Sugar Film (2014)
Watch More Docs on Sugar before you get blinded!
This documentary is very biased like most documentaries. He says low fat yet he has chicken which is fat. Secondly lactose has way more problems that fructose do your own research. Also he blames everything sugar is involved in yet whole fruits have proved to reverse diabetes check out ALL HCLF mainly fruit eaters and find out for yourself. Also check out this documentary, Sugar V Fat The documentary is on You tube to watch IMDb has a trailer for it as well http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3564506/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Two twin doctors one goes full fat meat diet and the other sugar vegan diet. The end result will astonish all who watch this film. The sugar eater lost actual fat went further from diabetes and became more coherent in everything. The fat eating doctor became almost diabetic, lost weight but gained body fat and lost muscle, and was much less coherent.
Lastly check out this You tube channel: Nutritionfacts
White sugar and lactose has its problems, but this guy had sodas which contain aspartame (much much worse) caramel colouring(again much worse) etc... Please do your research before believing this highly biased film that is out to plainly attack all good things about a good diet!!!
Paranormal Activity 4 (2012)
Way better plot than the garbage this one had....
I would like to say that the horror aspect was pretty good, and had some scares, nicely done like being trapped in the garage but for the plot? WTF! It was confusing, non sensical, and a 5 year old could have probably written a plot that made more sense. First off the boys just got confusing when the one went back to Katie and the other one turned out to be Hunter, just a weird nonsense twist. Also, the whole community is part of a witches' coven what? It's not scary when a plot confuses you, hence The Ring 2 everyone.
So instead of describing every single plot hole and mistake this movie had, here's a simpler much scarier plot. Katie somehow loses track of Hunter, and Hunter is taken as adoption from the family. Katie tracks him down, and the hauntings starts. The haunting can remain the same for the most part, and instead of it ending with the whole community possessed or whatever it was, the girl is outside, and starts running, drops the camera, Katie's face changes to demonic and quickly chases after the camera. It is scary, gives the audience hope that maybe one character could live from Katie's exploits, but yet still makes you think the girl is going to die.
Of course the review is later, but just thought of it and now part 5? I got an idea for the studio, it was never a demon that was brought up by a witches coven, but aliens who took control of a Grandma, convinced her to make a deal, and then comes back to wreck havoc of controlling and demonology on an entire town. The plot has gotten crazy enough, that we might as well add Aliens somehow.
Paranormal Activity 3 (2011)
Very good, but still could have been way better.
This movie was good. I would like to point out that it is better than 2, but still no where near number 1. There were a few scenes that could have been changed for scarier scenes and I think the ending should have been altered. A couple of scenes from the trailer I believed should have been included but weren't. Overall it's a good watch, and I recommend it, but the potential was there for so much more! The house house could have been more 80s like, similar to the grandma's. It looked modern to us. A couple big bangs like in the first one, maybe a voice talking, more doors locking, etc... Another thing I would like to mention is pay to close to the movie, as one creepy scene if misunderstood looks more random. Hope you enjoy it, I would give it 7/10.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
Good Movie, Was Nothing like the First
I rather enjoyed the movie. I thought it was much better than part two. It had good comic relief and the action stunts were good, some a bit over the top but overall good. Loved the dark undertone of the plot, it was a nice change for Transformers. Liked how the humans were more needed in this one despite stupid antics by the ones in charge. but your main human heroes were important and played a much braver role in here which was nice to see. It had some tearful moments but ended well. There were definitely areas to improve on but I can't complain. I believe the viewers will enjoy this movie and I must say it was nice to see Megan Fox out of the movie.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Wow, it was good... I guess but it did well lack
I enjoyed the movie but there were several things not needed. First Megan Fox her role in this movie was definitely not needed. It took away from the movie, too much sex sells kinda work with it and I don't think she is hot either although I know people may disagree. The acting just wasn't the same. Not as much comic relief, thankfully the action was there but I think it should have had a darker undertone. Nothing like the first and seriously brought the franchise down. It is enjoyable but be warned that it is nowhere near the brilliance of the first. I thought that the movie should have been funnier, maybe bringing some of the comical characters of the first movie.
Transformers (2007)
Great Movie, funny, action, fair plot
I thought the movie was amazing. It was what I expected. I wish it would have exceeded but it matched and I can't ask for much more. Fox seemed like a good fit, labeouf is Sam Whitwicky and Tyrese and Duhamel are a good couple of military heroes. I liked it. Bernie Mac added a good funny cameo, the action was there, and the plot made sense. It was similar yet didn't copy the cartoon which was good to see. Emotions are there for the human and autobots and the decepticons were well done. Could have bee better but good nonetheless. If you haven't seen it yet, you should it is worthy of a look and even maybe buying the DVD or blue ray. I am sure your kids will love it, and it will be enjoyable for you as well.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
Completely Unmatched Potential
This movie shows how Hollywood Producers don't care for originality. The movie was predictable, and stayed the same throughout. If you like cheap, quick, and startling thrills non stop that don't scare and become incredibly predictable than this movie is for you. The beginnings shows promise as the guy kills himself thanks to Freddy's nightmare, but the other nightmares were all the same going back to the school. The movie lacked punch, and the creative genius of Wes Craven's Freddy Krueger. This movie had potential as Jackie Earle Hayley looked to add a real creepiness with his voice but as the movie dragged on and I mean dragged, he spoke too much that his voice became too much of an annoyance. If they would have dramatically reduce how much Freddy talked, he would have been creepier and more calculating. Also the dreaming awhile awake was a good addition but there was too much jump scares with that, it should have been subtle dreams which would have been scarier and not so predictable. This movie is another proof that remakes with all the potential are nearly always unmatched with Producers taking full control. Please allow for creative originality, and then the movies will undoubtedbly be better. So 3 out of 10, since it shows some flashes of what could have been good and was OK at times but completely lacked in most areas. I have one question where did the real nightmares and whimsical world of nightmares go?
Friday the 13th (2009)
Friday the 13th - Don't Waste Time
As what several people will tell you, the first 15-20 min of this is extremely powerful. So powerful that the next 40 min or so is a complete melt-down. Jason looked badder than ever, and this looked like a great remake for the whole Friday the 13th story, then they introduce the main characters and you're left looking at the watch wondering when the movie will end by about the half hour mark. Yes, within 10 minutes the movie goes from entertaining so completely boring and lame. None of the characters were realistic, all they said were stupid one-liner quips and cheesy lines which lets face it, no one talks like that in real life or 1/100 do. Also they seemed so heartless, they practically didn't care if they're friends were dying. One guy opens a door sees the girl he just slept with hanging there dead, and no reaction comes from him. It's just "Oh she's dead cool" Well I got the impression he should have said cool. Also Jason is all of a sudden a master of weaponry, he like has all weapons at his disposal and at all different times. Arrows here, then this weapon, then another. Rarely the classic machete. It was pretty lame. The last point is that you could basically watch the first 20minutes, skip the next 40 and watch the ending. You would have seen the only good characters, seen the better deaths, seen the entertaining parts, understood the entire story and not miss a beat. Why watch a full length movie if 3/4 of the movie is useless garbage. I am a complete Friday the 13th fan, the original with Mrs. Voorhees as the killer and the movie in first person, creative and creepy, this was a complete let-down. Hollywood doesn't care about horror anymore, they prefer to had stupidity and comedy instead.
