Queer Eye star Jonathan van Ness is opening up about an exposé alleging he created a toxic work environment on Netflix’s makeover series.
Earlier this year, Rolling Stone published an investigation that cited different sources that worked with Van Ness. The report stated that the grooming expert was emotionally “abusive,” was called a “monster,” and alleged that he had “rage issues.”
“Our whole Queer Eye family had first learned about this article in December,” Van Ness said on the latest episode of the Table Manners podcast. “I heard… ‘There’s someone who’s gonna write an investigative takedown/exposé piece about you that isn’t really based in reality, but can certainly have a lot of things taken out of context to make you look as bad as possible. So that could drop any day now. Just so you know.'”

“Queer Eye” hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness has responded to Rolling Stone’s reports of his alleged abusive behavior on the set of the Netflix reality series.
In the March exposé, seven “Queer Eye” production sources claimed Van Ness was “emotionally abusive” on set, going as far as to call them a “monster” and a “nightmare.” One source called their outbursts “intense and scary” describing their behavior as “almost like a cartoon where it oozes out of them.” Another crew member added Van Ness would lash out “at least once a day,” picking one member of the production to “point out and blame and make the villain of the day.”
After months of silence after the allegations, Van Ness has responded via an interview on the “Table Manners” podcast in which the “Queer Eye” cast member said the story “isn’t really based in reality.”

Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness has, for the first time, publicly commented on allegations that they were abusive on the set of Netflix’s smash hit makeover series.
The grooming expert was caught in the center of a Rolling Stone investigation in March this year, which claimed Van Ness had “rage issues” and that subsequent tension among the Fab Five prompted Bobby Berk’s departure from the show.
The report said three sources who had worked with 37-year-old Van Ness described them as being emotionally “abusive” and a “monster.” Claims included that Queer Eye‘s work environment was “really toxic” with a “manufactured boy band” who were “told to be best friends.” Fellow stars on the eight-series show include Karamo Brown, Tan France and Antoni Porowski.

The question is “do you sleep with wet hair?” The answer is a bit more complicated than you can expect. After Ripa and her husband touched on “bad” nighttime habits, a lot of emotions started surfacing, and well let’s just say Ripa is good at making rules and breaking ’em.

Fans are chiming in on the latest debate on “Live With Kelly and Mark.” Ripa posted a clip of the June 4 episode on Instagram with the caption “do you sleep with wet hair?”
Well, when it comes to the topic of wet hair, Ripa may be an offender, but at least she knows which side of the fence she’s on.

The Traitors was the top winner at the 2024 Critics Choice Real TV Awards, with the Peacock series taking home four awards, including best competition series, best ensemble cast in an unscripted series, best show host and male star of the year, the latter two won by Traitors emcee Alan Cumming.
Apple TV+’s The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy won two awards, including best unstructured series and best travel/adventure show, the only other multiple award-winning program on Saturday night.
Though RuPaul’s Drag Race went into the evening tied with The Traitors for the most nominations this year (five each), Drag Race only won one award, for best lifestyle show: fashion/beauty. Since 2008, the TV academy has honored the work of reality and competition series presenters with the Emmy Award for Best Reality/Competition Host. During this year’s first-round nominations voting period, academy members from eight branches must choose from 48 entrants, which is down from 2023’s total of 67 and keeps the number of available nomination slots at five.
Included on the 2024 ballot is reigning victor RuPaul Charles, who has prevailed on all eight of his consecutive bids for “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Also seeking another win is Jeff Probst (“Survivor”), who dominated the category from 2008 to 2011 but has not been nominated since.
The peer groups allowed to vote for nominations in this category are casting directors, daytime programming, performers, producers, production executives, professional representatives, reality, and television executives. These voters have until June 24 to choose from the options listed below, and the lineup will be announced on July 17.

When the cast and creators of Queer Eye met with Vice President Kamala Harris in her ceremonial office on Thursday, there was very quickly a reminder that the show’s impact was far greater than style guidance.
Marking Pride Month, Harris called the series “groundbreaking” in that it raised the consciousness of the LGBTQ+ community.
She met with executive producers David Collins and Michael Williams, current cast members Karamo Brown and Jonathan Van Ness, and original cast members Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez. The show launched on Bravo in 2003 and then returned on Netflix in 2018.
Kressley said, “One of the most grateful things I have for that show is that so many young people come up to me today … and say, ‘Your show helped me come out because it allowed a safe dialog with my family to say, ‘Oh, he’s Ok’.”
He even said that some had told him...

Ahead of the Emmy nomination voting on Thursday, the Television Academy has revised its Emmy rules regarding submissions and nominee numbers. This update will significantly impact the scripted variety category, which includes “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” and “Saturday Night Live.”
The new Rules and Procedures document on the Emmys website, updated on May 22, details changes under the Nominations Procedures section. Previously, categories with fewer than seven submissions required contenders to be screened by a peer group, with nominees needing at least 90% approval. If no submissions met this threshold, the highest vote-getter would be declared the winner.
The updated rules have lowered the nomination threshold from 90% to 70%, as well as capped the number of potential nominees at two.
In 2023, the scripted variety category had 12 submissions, resulting in three nominees. This year, Variety has been tracking only four expected submissions: last year’s winner John Oliver, “SNL,” CBS’s “After Midnight...

TV Personality Cason Kressley revealed his favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race moment in his new uInterview.
“We just crowned our season 16 winner, Nymphia Wind,” Kressley dished. “So many of the contestants are a little overwhelmed by being there amidst those competitors and being judged by [RuPaul], and I think Nymphia had such a great trajectory of starting out a little slow, but I loved her fashion references, her workmanship, the looks she created were mind-blowing.”
He concluded, “By finale time, she was ready to be the winner. She’s very talented.”
Kressley also reflected on his favorite moment on the show. “When they did the Carson Kressley roast,” he said. “They were so funny. It’s like going to your own memorial, but you’re still alive because there’s a lot of great memories.”
Kressley’s career took off in 2003 when he became a prominent figure on the Bravo series...

Could renowned attractions such as the London Eye or the Sea Life aquariums be getting their own TV shows?
That’s part of the plan following a new partnership between Brent Montgomery’s media company Wheelhouse and Merlin Entertainment.
Under the deal, announced Thursday, Wheelhouse and Merlin will develop “original entertainment” programs inspired by the various global attractions in Merlin’s portfolio, including The London Eye and Sea Life, plus Alton Towers, Chessington’s World of Adventures and Warwick Castle. The companies said the programs developed would “span a diverse range of genres, including reality, documentary and game show.”
Merlin owns over 140 attractions across 23 countries, more landmarks than any other entertainment destinations company. Wheelhouse, meanwhile, is behind original series for Netflix, Hulu and Max, as well as a wide variety of U.S. cable and broadcast networks. After The Traitors took the world by storm, high concept reality shows which aren’t about dating are hot property.
The Underdog: Josh Must Win is the latest bingeable reality show “with a twist” and it appears to be setting itself up as a series which pierces the image of the typical reality contestant in favour of elevating an average bloke called Josh, who is neither especially handsome, nor polished, nor confident and therefore is not what we have come to expect from such shows. It’s pitched as a nicer brand of reality show. But is it, really?
The set up is this: nine contestants think they are on a popularity contest called “The Favourite”, but secretly they are actually in a show called “Josh Must Win” and are being manipulated off screen by four “celebrities” – presenter Nick Grimshaw and former reality stars Vicky Pattison, Amber Gill and Pete Wicks...

A Rolling Stone article was recently released with details on the behavior of nonbinary Queer Eye star Jonathan van Ness and his anger issues while on set.
The piece covered his behavior while filming with a source that called him “emotionally abusive” and a “monster” with “rage issues.” After the release of this article, fans of the show flooded the comments saying how upset it made them.
These fans took to Van Ness’ Instagram page with comments like, “I really hope the Rolling Stone article I just read has no truth to it.”
Additionally, one fan wrote, “You have always been a positive force in social media and someone who brings people up, especially those of us who are down. It would kind of suck if that was all just a facade.”

Hulu plans to celebrate April 20 with Jimmy Kimmel.
The Disney-backed streamer has handed out a six-episode series order for High Hopes, a docuseries following two brothers running a cannabis shop in Los Angeles with Kimmel on board to exec produce.
Hulu describes High Hopes as a “workplace reality series following Belarus-born brothers Slava and Mishka and their stoned crew through the trials and tribulations of taking their cannabis business to new heights. As one of the oldest cannabis dispensaries in Hollywood, Mmd attracts a wild mix of weed-loving customers and is a home away from home for their Og employees who work hard and smoke harder! This season builds to their biggest day of the year — 4.20 — as the gang attempts to expand nationwide and release their own top-shelf cannabis brand. Will they find what they’re looking for or will their hopes go up in smoke?”

People obtained a photo of them cozying up at their table. In it, Gigi has her hand on Bradley‘s cheek while she leans in to him.
While this isn’t the first time that the couple has engaged in some Pda, it does seem to be their first kiss captured on camera!
If you forgot, the couple first sparked romance rumors in late 2023, and they’ve stepped out together quite a bit in recent weeks.
Despite that, Gigi did not accompany Bradley to the Oscars over the weekend.

Oscars weekend is the most star-studded of the year. Whether nominated or unattached to the Academy-recognized films, celebrities gather en masse to celebrate the awards show.
This year, like many before, Vanity Fair threw the largest and most extravagant after-party. The many groups of A-list actors, Grammy Award-winning singers, and cultural icons would make your eyes pop. Here are some of the most exciting:

The Oscars night gave us numerous surprises this year. There is much to talk about from Robert Downey Jr. and the entire Oppenheimer team’s triumph to John Cena’s bizarre entry. However, a certain part of the event has divided the fans and has raised an intense internet debate. The fans did not appreciate how Downey Jr. and Emma Stone reacted to Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh while receiving the Golden Statuettes for Best Supporting Actor and Leading Actress.

The Academy brought the 2009 concept of ‘Fab 5’ presenters back this year. It saw five past winners in each acting category announcing the current nominees before unveiling the winner. While it was meant to create wholesome moments, debates were raised online regarding Robert Downey Jr. and Emma Stone’s seemingly ignorant behaviors toward the Asian stars.

Tan France and Bobby Berk are celebrating the 2024 Academy Awards at opposing parties amid rumors of a feud.
If you missed it, in late 2023 Bobby announced that he would be departing Queer Eye, the popular Netflix series that he starred in with Tan, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness and Kamaro Brown. The rest of the castmates will continue with the show, and he has been replaced.
Earlier this year, Bobby confirmed that he and Tan had “a situation” that led to some sort of falling out. Rumors picked up speed again in March amid a report about Queer Eye that alleged Tan campaigned to get Bobby recast. He denied the allegations.
When it was time to celebrate the Oscars on Sunday (March 10), the former costars did so at different venues.

Tan France says he had nothing to do with Queer Eye colleague Bobby Berk being apparently fired and replaced on the popular Netflix series.
“Yes, I’ve heard what’s going on, and I just want to address one point real quick. My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired,” France, a co-host and fashion expert on the series, said in a Friday Instagram post.
Rumors and accusations have flown since interior designer Berk left the series and news broke he would be replaced by Jeremiah Brent for the ninth season of Queer Eye after an alleged campaign led by France.
France, who fronts the style portion of the series, insists Netflix did its own casting for Berk’s replacement and without his campaigning for Brent, as he is accused of doing. “I didn’t prop my friend up for the job.

Queer Eye‘s Tan France is setting the record straight when it comes to his involvement surrounding the hiring of his friend Jeremiah Brent in place of former cast member Bobby Berk. Taking to Instagram, the fashion expert set out to make a few points clear, “Yes, I’ve heard what’s going on, and I just want to address one point real quick,” he began to say in the video posted on Friday, March 8. “My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired.” Initial news of Berk’s exit was unveiled in November 2023 as Queer Eye‘s ninth season was announced. In January, Berk addressed his exit in an interview with Vanity Fair as he told the outlet, “Queer Eye has been the most amazing gift that I couldn’t have ever imagined. Tan France — co-host and fashion expert on the Netflix “Queer Eye” series — has addressed the recent allegations that he pushed for the hiring of his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace former cast member and interior design expert Bobby Berk.
In a recent Rolling Stone article, sources claimed that France (with alleged support from co-host Antoni Porowski) “campaigned” for Berk to be replaced with new hire Jeremiah Brent. Brent is set to join the cast for Season 9.
“Yes, I’ve heard what’s going on, and I just want to address one point real quick,” France said in Instagram video post on Friday. “My former colleague getting fired had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired.”
France continued: “Netflix and the production companies did a full-on casting. I didn’t prop my friend up for the job. They ended up getting it because they were the best person for the job.

Netflix’s Griselda spent a second week as the top streaming title in the United States, according to Nielsen. It was one of three shows to snag more than a billion minutes of watch time for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4.

After eight seasons, it’s time for the Fab Five to get a little makeover of its own.
Interior designer Jeremiah Brent is joining the cast of Queer Eye for Season 9 alongside original hosts Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France. Yes, the Fab Five might look a little different this time around, but their mission remains the same: transforming the lives of everyday people from the inside out.
The group will once again assist a fresh crop of heroes with their fine-tuned expertise in style, grooming, interior design, culture, and food and drink. And this time around, the Fab Five is betting on Las Vegas, where the upcoming season will take place. As we all know well by now, everybody who comes across the Fab Five leaves with lessons that they’ll take with them everywhere — guess what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in...
