After almost 60 years as a man, three children and three marriages, Laerte Coutinho, one of Brazil's most renowned cartoonists, has come out as a woman. Netflix's first original documentary produced in Brazil follows Laerte's investigation into the intimate world of women in everyday life. While renovating her home, Laerte wonders whether or not she should get breast implants. This question leads to a series of difficult questions about what it means to be a woman.
Very enjoyable, another excellent French production, that comedy in homeopathic doses but deliciously administered with a different sense of humor, the characters are super captivating, even the supporting characters, such as the trio of security guards and the serial killer dismembering the police station, among others... Light on the drama, fun and well-orchestrated in the police story, a fake romance... And in the end, finally free, both protagonists, in their own way, and without further explanation, free... Lovely...
