For the better part of the last 15 years, Elizabeth Gillies has made a career out of playing sassy, snarky, strong-willed women on television. After rising to fame in her mid-teens as the mercurial Jade West on the hit Nickelodeon sitcom “Victorious,” Gillies made the transition to playing similarly rebellious adult characters, co-starring as Denis Leary’s daughter in his FX musical comedy “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” and reimagining the role of Fallon Carrington in the CW’s modern-day reboot of “Dynasty.”
It was during the fifth and final season of “Dynasty” that Gillies was approached to star in and executive produce “Spread,” which premieres on July 19 on Tubi. Directed by Ellie Kanner and written by Buffy Charlet, the new film follows Ruby (Gillies), an aspiring (and very broke) journalist who is forced to swallow her pride and take a temp job at Spread, an outdated adult magazine.

FX will be giving viewers "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" for another year. The cable network has renewed the freshman comedy series, from executive producers Denis Leary and Jim Serpico, for a 10-episode second season. “We are thrilled with Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and it proved to one of the highest-rated new comedies on cable this year,” Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, said in a statement. “We thank Denis and the rest of the cast, along with Jim Serpico and Tom Sellitti, for a terrific first season and look forward to indulging in more Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll in Season 2.” “The only thing that could make me happier about this announcement is if David Bowie decided to be a guest star during Season 2,” Leary added. “In which case, my head would explode. Hopefully on-camera so we get a kick*** viral video out of it. Not to mention awesome Live+3s.

About a year ago FX said it would only discuss Live+3 stats because of the number of people who are not watching a program on even the same day in which it premieres on a TV…...
