D. S. Bradford, born in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American musician, recording artist, and composer for media. A versatile songwriter and composer, Bradford has developed an eclectic style and has written songs in genres including rock, progressive rock, alternative, and classical music. Bradford is best known for his concept album 'Elemental Evolution' and as the music composer for Saga Of Lucimia.
Bradford started his career in 2007, after having joined the band Certain Tragedy as lead guitarist. Subsequently, under the tutelage of multi-platinum producer and A&R Jeff Blue, the person who catalyzed careers of artists such as Linkin Park, Bradford became a solo artist and focused on his career as a songwriter. In 2014, Bradford independently released his first single "Oceans", which garnered a fair amount of positive reviews and officially put him in the spotlight as a performer and recording artist. The following year, Bradford began to work on what would be the music for 'Elemental Evolution', a concept album that highlights the complexities of humanity. Simultaneously, he joined Stormhaven Studios as a founding member and as the music composer and music supervisor. The studio's first title, The Saga of Lucimia, is a high-fantasy video game in which Bradford's work can be heard in-game, as well as within the short films associated with the title.
In 2016, D. S. Bradford released 'Elemental Evolution' (Sugo Music Group/Sony Music) to strong reviews, and unanimously hailed as a sensational album woven together by its story-line and attention to detail within the structure of the songwriting. The use of progressive rock elements helped to give the release a solid soundscape, blending all of the styles with which Bradford works best to produce a universe for his characters. In addition to the music, Bradford used his illustrative talents for the album cover art and the images found within the liner notes.
By 2020, Bradford produced animated video content for Evil Ink Records (Coheed and Cambria lead singer Claudio Sanchez's record label), BOOM! Studios, Serj Tankian, and System Of A Down.
In 2023, Bradford released his LP ' A Bridge,' consisting of instrumental music pieces featured in trailers, as well as standalone tracks.
