Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Barak Shpiez received his first degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts before settling in Los Angeles, California.
Barak's music has been featured in hundreds of episodes of TV programming from NBC, MTV, The History Channel, as well as film and advertising.
After earning degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and California State University, Barak worked for SRS Labs where he mixed content using Multidimensional Audio, the first object-based audio codec. He later joined DTS where he supported the release of spatial audio headphone mixes from Hans Zimmer, Soundgarden, and more.
Barak is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, the Audio Engineering Society, and is represented by Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI).
