After Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s M3GAN took audiences (and TikTok) by storm, plans to expand the artificial intelligence-centric horror property are in full swing with the M3GAN spin-off, SOULM8TE, on the way. According to Deadline, Evil Dead Rise actress Lily Sullivan will play the lead in SOULM8TE, a beautiful companion bot trying to help a grieving man cope with the loss of his wife.
In SOULM8TE, Sullivan’s artificial intelligence love bot becomes more when a man inadvertently turns the harmless droid into a deadly soulmate. While SOULM8TE is considered a part of the M3GAN universe, sources close to the project clarify that SOULM8TE is a more mature and risqué horror thriller. The project resembles ’90s domestic thrillers, such as Sleeping with the Enemy, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and Dangerous Intentions. In addition to next year’s sequel M3GAN 2.0, arriving in theaters June 27, 2025, the M3GAN Universe will also be expanding with a spinoff horror movie titled SOULM8TE, and Deadline reports today that Lily Sullivan will star.
The website details, “Sullivan will portray the gorgeous, artificially intelligent android that a man acquires to help him cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife.
“In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, the man inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate.”
SOULM8TE is being billed as a ’90s-style erotic thriller with a “new technological twist,” and it’s coming to theaters on January 2, 2026. Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) will direct.
“Fundamentally, I view this film as an exploration of relationships and loneliness,” Dolan said in a recent statement. “Despite technological advances, there are enduring human truths we cannot escape, and I am looking forward to delving into those depths.

We're still waiting (and probably will be for a while longer) on a first look at some footage from Warner Bros./New Line's Mortal Kombat 2, but producer and co-creator of the iconic video game series, Ed Boon, has now taken to social media to share a teasing glimpse of one of the new characters who'll be debuting in the sequel, Kitana.
Her face is kept hidden, but we do get a look at the fan-favorite fighter's signature weapon and costume. Kitana will be played by Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actress Adeline Rudolph.
The Netflix series marked Rudolph's screen debut, but the Hong Kong-born model-turned-actress has also appeared in the CW’s Riverdale and Netflix’s Resident Evil series. She is also set to play the female lead in Millennium’s Hellboy: The Crooked Man.
Boon also revealed that he has seen an unfinished cut of the movie.

So to celebrate this sub-genre, we decided to put together a list of some of the all-time best killer dolls. Not killer doll movies, but specific dolls. Here is our list of the Top 10 Killer Dolls!

Ride the "Black Chariot" - A Hitchcockian Horror of Vengeance and Retribution: "Hex Studios is excited to announce Black Chariot, an intense and deeply disturbing supernatural horror directed by Lawrie Brewster, inspired by the macabre genius of Alfred Hitchcock. Director Lawrie Brewster shared, “My childhood was spent haunted and mesmerized by the romantic and seductive veil Hitchcock cast over me. It shaped my vision of horror, sensuality, and my understanding of fear and obsession. I am thrilled to finally produce a horror film that combines my love for the genre with inspirations drawn from his incomparable genius. Peacock’s forthcoming horror series Teacup revealed its premiere date and frightening first footage — but not too much else — during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.
Executive producers James Wan (Saw, Aquaman) and Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) and stars Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman and Chaske Spencer took part in the event for the series, and they all remained fairly tight-lipped to avoid giving away too much. Teacup is set to launch with its first two half-hour episodes on Oct. 10, followed by two episodes being released weekly through Halloween.
Hailing from Wan’s banner Atomic Monster, Teacup adapts author Robert McCammon’s book Stinger and centers on a group of individuals in rural Georgia who must put their differences aside to survive a mysterious threat. During the panel, McCulloch explained that the series pared down the sprawling book to make it feel more focused on specific characters.

James Wan might be jumping from the world of Aquaman to The Creature From The Black Lagoon: more here.
Horror director James Wan could be turning his attentions to one of the genre’s classic entries for his next project: a remake of The Creature From The Black Lagoon.
Daniel Richtman is reporting (via World Of Reel) that Wan ‘is set to direct The Creature From The Black Lagoon for Universal. This is a remake of the 1954 classic which tackled a strange prehistoric beast lurking in the depths of the Amazonian jungle and the group of scientists who try to capture the animal to bring it back to civilization for study.’

It’s clear that Fast & Furious is a huge hit, and it’s no surprise it’s already got 10 movies under its belt. As a result, many actors have been cast over time, but others have remained and have even become icons of the whole franchise.
Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious (Universal Pictures)
Vin Diesel is one of them. It’s impossible to think of these movies without picturing him. Because he had made a name for himself within the franchise, he was able to reach a higher level by becoming a producer later on. However, his mother wanted him to aim even higher, practically pushing him to do so.

The Insidious franchise has been widely successful with more movies joining the series since 2011. The franchise has been the brainchild of Australian horror filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The duo have worked together on several horror projects, with Whannell as the screenwriter. So far, the Insidious movies have centered around the Lambert family, Elise Rainier, Specs, and Tucker. Their plot focuses on The Further, a spirit realm filled with ghosts seeking to feed on human souls. With talks of a new movie, crossover film, and spin-off, now is the best time to catch up on all five released...

The Conjuring film franchise is set to come to an end with the fourth installment, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which Warner Bros. set to give the film a theatrical release on September 5, 2025 release. We had previously heard that this movie would be filming in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but apparently they’ll be doing some work across the pond as well, with filming scheduled to take place in London, England from September 10th through October 10th this year. Industry scooper Daniel Richtman has gotten his hands on a casting call that reveals some details on a few supporting characters that will be required on the set in London.
We don’t have any plot info on The Conjuring: Last Rites at this time, all we know that the story takes place in the United States in the 1980s, but thanks to Richtman and the casting call we know about these characters:

The Fangoria Chainsaw Awards are back this year and bigger than ever.
Once again airing on AMC’s Shudder, the 2024 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards has shifted the annual awards show’s shift to October; as such, the window of this year’s eligible horrors is an expanded one, encompassing all of 2023 and the first half of 2024. That means a much bigger selection of horror titles to pull from, and with the expanded categories this year, that means a massive list of 46 nominees. They even have a new category this year: Best Video Game.
Here’s where you come in; Fangoria needs your vote to decide on the winners! We have it on good authority that some of the categories are extremely competitive right now. And voting happens to be officially open for the awards show.
Participants can cast their votes via the official Fangoria website at www.fangoria.com/vote/. Voting...

Remember the dancing yet murderous doll, M3GAN? Well, she'll soon be back in an upcoming horror film called M3GAN 2.0. This is the sequel to the box office hit M3GAN, and we can't wait to see it when it hits theaters on its (new) release date, June 27, 2025.
We first learned of a potential sequel back in November 2022 when The New York Times reported that Universal (the studio behind the film) was happy with how M3GAN turned out and was looking to make a second film. Then, in January 2023, M3GAN director Gerard Johnstone confirmed that talks were being had about a sequel in an interview with Collider. In that same interview, James Wan, writer and producer of M3GAN, mentioned that he had an idea of where a second film would go.

The sci-fi thriller M3GAN (read our review Here, get a copy Here) was such a financial success when it reached theatres in January of last year, it didn’t even take Universal Pictures and production companies Blumhouse and Atomic Monster two weeks to announce that they’d be re-teaming for a sequel. We’ve known that M3GAN stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will be reprising their roles in M3GAN 2.0, which is set to reach theatres on June 27, 2025 – and now, with filming underway, Deadline reports that Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps are also returning from the first movie. New additions include Ivanna Sakhno (Ahsoka), who recently landed a major part in the sequel, Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows), Timm Sharp (Blunt Talk), and Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live).

It’s time to put M3GAN back together, as Blumhouse has announced this morning that principal photography is now underway on M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to the box office horror hit.
M3GAN 2.0 arrives in theaters on June 27, 2025. Check out an early tease below…
Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are back for the sequel, with Akela Cooper (Malignant, M3GAN) once again writing the script and James Wan on board to produce. Deadline also reports today that Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement have joined the cast.
Gerard Johnstone (M3GAN) is back to direct the upcoming sequel.
Spoiler Warning: M3GAN ends with the titular doll being destroyed, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Child’s Play franchise it’s that killer dolls can never truly be killed!
M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally.

CBS is headed to the infamous “Area 51” with an upcoming single-camera comedy that’s being produced by James Wan’s company Atomic Monster, Deadline reports this week.
Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt (“God Friended Me”) are behind the series for CBS.
“Written and executive produced by Lilien, Wynbrandt and Laura Moran, “Area 51″ follows the humans and Aliens that work together at the country’s most mysterious place.”
Deadline notes in their exclusive report this morning, “The half-hour workplace comedy, now in development, is single-camera, indicating that CBS continues to opportunistically take shots in the single-camera comedy space where it has had a lot of success with the recently departed juggernaut Young Sheldon and ongoing hit Ghosts.”

Exclusive: God Friended Me creators Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are returning to CBS, teaming with the former The Neighborhood writer-producer Laura Moran, James Wan’s Atomic Monster and CBS Studios for Area 51.
The half-hour workplace comedy, now in development, is single-camera, indicating that CBS continues to opportunistically take shorts in the single-camera comedy space where it has had a lot of success with the recently departed juggernaut Young Sheldon and ongoing hit Ghosts.
Last year, CBS ordered only multi-camera comedy pilots, and its two new comedy series for next season are both multi-cam, Poppa’s House and the Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Multi-camera comedies are cheaper to produce, making them attractive for broadcast networks as budgets get squeezed amid declining linear ratings. For studios, broadcast single-camera comedies are hard to justify financially because of their higher cost and depressed network license fees.

In James Wan's "Furious 7," released in 2015, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) find themselves inside a supercar located many stories up in an Abu Dhabi skyscraper. They desperately need a chip that's embedded in the vehicle (don't ask), but things go south when the villains realize their plan. In order to escape, Dom does the only thing he knows how to do: he drives his way out of the situation, despite being indoors. After knocking over several of the baddies and evading many a gunshot, Dom realizes the only way the team can accomplish their mission is if he and Brian speed through the window and crash into a neighboring skyscraper.
The scene is, of course, absolutely ridiculous, but Wan and his team give it a sense of majesty and wonder, and the result is one of the best stunts in "Fast and Furious" franchise history.
