- Disqualified as Miss California 1940 as being underage. The second placed contestant, Rosemary LaPlanche, represented California in 1940 finishing second & would become Miss America in 1941.
- Blond Canadian-born leading lady, under contract at Columbia (1942-44), MGM (1945-46) and PRC (1946-47). Acted mostly in serials (notably as heroine to the first "Batman"), in Three Stooges comedies and B-westerns. Took a sabbatical from films to raise a family, 1947-53, then re-emerged under the name Shawn Smith as co-star in several cult sci-fi films and TV series. Broke a leg in eight places during a skiing accident at California's Big Bear mountain resort in 1958, which brought about her premature retirement from the film business.

- She was cremated after passing and her ashes were scattered along into the Atlantic Ocean.
