As the cast of Euphoria gears up to film the long-overdue Season 3, Colman Domingo has one thing on the mind.
The Academy Award nominee, who plays recovering drug addict Ali on the HBO series, said he’s “asking for my character to have sex” in the upcoming season, noting that he’s one of the few actors without a sex scene on the show.
“I would like to see – because I’m like, ‘These young kids are out there having all this kind of sex,’ and I’m like, ‘I think Ali needs to get some this season,'” Domingo said this week on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I’d like to see what that is.”
His revelation came after host Andy Cohen asked, “Do you ever go to [creator] Sam Levinson and be like, ‘Hey dude, let my character counsel Jacob Elordi a little bit. Let me get in there with him?...

“Cool” is one of those nebulous descriptors that defies classification. A cool girl could be anyone from an irreverent teen ditching class under the bleachers to a popular trend-setter rocking the latest style, a tik tok master with millions of followers or – like Gillian Flynn’s Amy Dunne – a woman consumed with attracting a man. This ever-evolving status can be difficult to pin down, but we all know a cool girl when we see her. Hunter Schafer is that girl; a celebrated actress currently reinventing the idea of “cool” for a new generation. With her latest role in Tilman Singer’s Cuckoo, Schafer brings this edgy energy to another classic female archetype. In her first starring role, Schafer takes on the final girl trope and embodies the female empowerment of legendary heroines while maintaining her own effortless allure. With an electric performance in this uniquely terrifying film, Schafer breaks the...

Hunter Schafer greets me with a confession. Beckoning me through a small gated fence into the winding maze of the Chateau Marmont’s lush, greenery-covered courtyard, she gives me a hug, then yawns. “There’s a lot happening right now,” she says. “I’ve barely gotten a handle on it.” There’s a gray vape in her hand, worn split-toe Tabis on her feet, and a wry smile on her face. “To be fully honest with you, I’d forgotten this was happening.”

The duo linked up to have a conversation for Interview Magazine. During it, they touched on everything from celebrity status and the advice that Jacob got from Eric.
They also explicitly discussed their HBO series. To craft the now iconic dance behind “World Class Sinner/I’m A Freak” from HBO’s “The Ido,l” choreographer Nina McNeely first needed to understand the root of pop star and musical sensation Jocelyn’s (played by Lily-Rose Depp).
“She’s a former child star. She was at the pinnacle of her fame, then went through a rough patch and had a mental breakdown. And in the rehearsal scene, that’s her big comeback; she’s rehearsing for her big comeback, so there’s an insane amount of pressure on her,” McNeely explained in Variety’s Artisans series, presented by HBO. “She had canceled tours; she needs to get that money back. She needs to top the charts, and she’s also having that rehearsal in the midst of a scandal.”
Visual artist and dance legend McNeely has worked with Major Lazer, Björk, the Foo Fighters, and (of course) The Weeknd.

Even Hunter Schafer is confused by the reports that “Euphoria” will return.
HBO confirmed that Season 3 will begin filming in January 2025, with series breakout stars Schafer, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and the entire principal cast returning. However, Schafer said during the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she has “no fucking idea” about the slated season.
“The real tea is I have no fucking idea what’s going on,” the “Cuckoo” star said, “and you can ask literally all of the cast.”
“Euphoria” Season 3 has been plagued with strike delays and rumors of clashes between showrunner Sam Levinson and two-time Emmy winner Zendaya, who also produces the show. In a July 2024 exposé published in The Hollywood Reporter, a source claimed that the allegations of a toxic workplace during Levinson’s “The Idol” production affected Zendaya, who allegedly turned down Levinson’s initial script ideas for “Euphoria” Season 3.

Colman Domingo still can’t believe he’s become a “54-year-old heartthrob,” all thanks to his role on Euphoria.
The Emmy-winning actor, who plays Rue’s (Zendaya) sponsor Ali on the hit HBO series, recently opened up to Jessica Shaw on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight about this newfound attention he’s received from the younger generation.
“It’s really kind of incredible,” Domingo said. “They’re like, ‘Oh my god, Ali!’ And usually what’s so sweet, they look at me and they want me to be their big brother, their father figure, their counselor or something.”
However, the Rustin star admitted he’s also experienced some wilder run-ins with younger fans.
“I was literally driving down the 405 in L.A. and a group of young girls kept looking at me and my husband was like, ‘Those girls are looking at you. Is something wrong?'” he recalled of the encounter.

Eric Dane is full of gratitude.
“I’ve been put through the wringer,” the actor tells me Tuesday morning over Zoom while promoting his new indie drama, “One Fast Move.” “But now I’m having fucking fun.”
For many years, Dane’s private life played out in the tabloids. He recently opened up on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast about his “Grey’s Anatomy” character Dr. Mark Sloan, a.k.a. McSteamy, being killed off the hit ABC show due, in part, to his real-life substance abuse problems.
But that was then.
Dane has been quite busy these last few years. In addition to “One Fast Move” – he plays a deadbeat dad and former motorcycle racing champion whose estranged son (Apa) comes back into his life – the actor appeared in this summer’s “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” opposite Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Before starring in blockbusters, Zendaya could have almost been part of Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise at one point.
In a recent interview on the Magical Rewind podcast, Cornelia Frame, the former vp casting and talent relations at the network, revealed the Emmy winner actually auditioned multiple times for the musical fantasy television film.
“Zendaya did audition many times for Descendants, and that was a big deal,” she recalled to hosts Will Friedle (Boy Meets World) and Sabrina Bryan (The Cheetah Girls). “It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over and really wanted it. It just ended up not going her way.”
The Descendants franchise centers on the teenage children of classic Disney villains, including Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil. The first film premiered in 2015, with two sequels debuting in 2017 and 2019. And the spinoff Descendants: The Rise of Red dropped on Disney+ earlier this month.

When the Emmy nominations were announced last week, heads turned when Sam Levinson and The Weeknd’s The Idol scooped up a nomination. And Nina McNeely, who earned the nod for choreography, feels like the axed HBO show deserved more Emmy love.
“Definitely cinematography,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I thought Lily [Rose Depp]’s acting was absolutely incredible. Even the makeup was fantastic on The Idol. I would definitely say directing for Sam. He is really incredible to work with, and even watching him work with the other actors, he trusts them so much and really asks their opinion, and you never know how creatively involved people are on projects like films or television. Since there were dozens of outdoor places used in the show, here are all the real-life castles and landmarks that were used to create the epic saga of the Iron Throne.
Dornish Palace – The Royal Alcazar, Spain
The Royal Alcazar which is located in Spain was used in Game of Thrones as one of the palaces in the nation of Dorne. The real place is actually called Alcázar de Sevilla in Spanish.

Zendaya was allegedly ready to challenge Sam Levinson’s plans for “Euphoria” Season 3.
After a years-long hiatus (“Euphoria” has been off the air since Season 2 concluded in February 2022), “Challengers” star and “Euphoria” executive producer Zendaya was frustrated by Levinson opting instead to focus on his controversial series “The Idol” rather than the long-awaited third season of “Euphoria.”
In a new exposé published in The Hollywood Reporter, a source claimed that the allegations of a toxic workplace during “The Idol” production reshoots affected Zendaya, who was urged by fans to distance herself from Levinson. “Her image is pristine,” an unnamed executive said. “And fans were turning against Sam.”
Additionally, Zendaya was reportedly frustrated by the delay in “Euphoria” Season 3 scripts from Levinson as he was in production on “The Idol.” Zendaya allegedly had a meeting with HBO executives Casey Bloys and Francesca Orsi to ask why the network was allowing Levinson...

On a sunny day last November, the grief-stricken family and friends of producer Kevin Turen gathered at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, then made their way to a reception on the Warner Bros. lot. At just 45 years old, Turen had been driving with his 10-year-old son in the car when he suddenly slumped over, having suffered a cardiac event. His son managed to stop the car and call for help.
A true cineaste with a zest for life and a long list of independent film credits (Arbitrage, The Birth of a Nation, Pieces of a Woman), Turen was beloved by many. Among the mourners that day were Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield and Zac Efron. Zendaya, the star of the biggest success of Turen’s career — the culture-rattling HBO series Euphoria — missed the funeral but attended the reception.

Euphoria season 3 is finally coming, but new seasons of modern TV shows are taking years to make. We take a look at why.
The past couple of weeks has brought a lot of good news for fans of modern, prestige TV. Euphoria season 3 is finally heading into production next January and we’ll be getting the new season of Severance in the same month. Meanwhile, Stranger Things season 5 is now halfway through filming.
This would all be great news, except every one of these shows were last on TV three years ago, in 2022. The wait between seasons has stretched from roughly a year, maybe two, to several. It’ll be 2026 before we see a new season of Euphoria and by then, many of us will have largely forgotten what happened to Rue and her friends since the last time we saw them.
Why has the wait become so long?

It looks like Euphoria season 3 is back on track as the HBO show is heading into production next January.
The long-delayed third season of Euphoria, Sam Levinson’s HBO hit TV series, is edging closer to production. With season 2 airing in 2022, there were fears that HBO wasn’t able to bring the team back together for another season.
The show’s main cast, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer, have all transitioned into starring in movies and have very busy schedules, making another season of Euphoria seem like a wish more than a reality. HBO said in March they were “committed” to making another season and Euphoria season 3 is now finally taking shape.
As reported by Deadline, HBO announced on 12th July that the new season would commence filming in January. If we had to guess, we can probably expect Euphoria season 3 in late 2025 or early 2026.

Filming wrapped on director Eli Roth‘s adaptation of the Borderlands video game series from Gearbox and 2K way back in June of 2021. A year and a half later, Deadpool director Tim Miller had to step in to handle the project’s two weeks of reshoots because Roth had the chance to finally – after sixteen years – make a feature based on the Thanksgiving faux trailer he put together for the Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez collaboration Grindhouse. The Borderlands reshoots have been completed, Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Lionsgate is now gearing up to finally release Borderlands into the world on August 9th… and with that date right around the corner, a featurette has arrived online to give us a look at the “dysfunctional family” of characters at the heart of the story. Will we see Euphoria Season 3 in 2025? HBO has just announced that the highly-anticipated third season will begin filming in January.
While the third-season renewal was announced way back in February 2022, the production has been pushed back several times since then. HBO says that all of the principal cast members will return.
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films.
“We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
The popular series’ first season premiered in June 2019, and the second season launched in January 2022. Two one-hour specials aired in December 2020 and January 2021.
Sam Levinson created the Emmy-winning drama series and is the writer, director, and executive producer.

Well, it’s official (and more than a little suprising): “Euphoria” will be back for Season 3. Variety reports that the hit HBO series will start shooting in January 2023, with all of its principal cast returning. That’s great news for the show’s fans, but it should leave most people scratching their heads. After all, production on Season 3 will start three years after Season 2’s premiere. Hasn’t the “Euphoria” zeitgeist already faded, and didn’t the myriad delays from last year’s guild strikes and Sam Levinson‘s wonky scripts expedite that process?

HBO heard the fans of "Stranger Things" complain about the massive gaps between seasons and really said, "Hold my consuming underage beer," huh? According to Variety, the hit Emmy award-winning teen drama "Euphoria" is finally beginning production on season 3, and by that I mean it's going to start filming in *checks notes* January of 2025. Principal cast members including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Eric Dane are all set to return, but Barbie Ferreria (as she announced months ago) will not be returning, and Angus Cloud tragically passed away in July 2023. What this means for the series is yet to be seen, but season 2 ended on February 27, 2022, meaning season 3 is starting production roughly three years after the start of its previous season.

The chances of Euphoria airing its third season next year have increased after HBO revealed that the youth-skewing drama is set to enter production in January.
Deadline reported in March that filming plans for the Sam Levinson-created series had been pushed back with Levinson still working on scripts.
Filming will now start at the top of next year with all of the principle cast returning. Also, expect a time jump between the second and third seasons.
At the time of the announcement in March, cast members were being allowed to take other jobs such as Eric Dane joining Jensen Ackles and Jessica Camacho in Prime Video’s thriller series Countdown.
HBO is cognizant of this move so will film around certain actors’ schedules. It’s not clear whether the third season will be its last but it’s hard to imagine HBO finding time in its stars’ schedule for...

After a very long hiatus between seasons, HBO’s Euphoria is preparing to head back into production.
Filming on the Sam Levinson-created drama’s third season is slated to begin in January 2025 — just about three years after the premiere of season two. HBO says all of the principal cast, inlcuding Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer, is set to return.

HBO hasn’t set an airdate, but it’s unlikely that Euphoria would be ready to go before late next year, which would mean a gap of up to four years between seasons.

In Moses Sumney’s first film acting role, he dies onscreen. That’s not so much a spoiler as it is an inevitability; the movie is MaXXXine, the final installment of Ti West’s beloved Mia Goth-starring horror trilogy from which nobody makes it out alive.
Sumney plays Leon, a Hollywood Boulevard video store employee and the closest thing to a best friend that Goth’s Maxine Minx has ever experienced. The story, which follows Minx as she attempts to catapult her porn career into Hollywood stardom, plays out as The Night Stalker — a real-life serial killer from the 1980s — terrorizes Los Angeles and seemingly starts to hunt down Maxine’s own circle. It’s a dream role for any actor building up their career, but Sumney — who self-deprecatingly describes himself as “very indecisive,” but in actuality seems to lean more contemplative and careful — admits he hesitated at first...

“MaXXXine,” the third film in writer/director Ti West and producer/actress Mia Goth’s “X” trilogy, is now in theaters. From the ’70s set “X” to the 1910s of “Pearl” and now the ’80s of “MaXXXine,” one of the defining characteristics of the trilogy is how they adopt the look and filmmaking style of the genre of the films they are emulating. Cinematographer Eliot Rockett, a long-time West collaborator who shot all three films, told IndieWire the roots of this approach pre-dated 2022’s “X.”
“This started back with ‘House of the Devil,’” said Rockett, referencing the 2009 horror film he shot for West. “We were trying to make a movie that felt not just like a period, but the whole thing felt more like an artifact from that time.”

For a certain type of film nerd (and lord knows I’m one), Michael Mann is a god. The man (Mann!) has directed some of the most potent, ultra-macho dramas and crime thrillers of the last forty-plus years, including a whole laundry list of classics, including Thief, Manhunter, The Last of the Mohicans, Heat, The Insider, Collateral, and many more. Plus, he’s the guy behind one of the greatest TV shows of all time, Miami Vice, and its underrated 2006 big-screen remake (to which we recently paid tribute). His influence can be felt in everything from Sam Levinson’s Euphoria to, shockingly enough, the films of Wes Anderson.
And now, Mann has joined the Mecca of film worship, Letterboxd, opening an account that includes a list of fourteen of his favourite movies. The selection is quite eclectic, including works from Sergei Eisenstein to Martin Scorsese, Guillermo del Toro, Denis Villeneuve,...

Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen Hutter shrieks as an undead hand clutches her neck in the new Nosferatu trailer, setting the creepy tone for the Robert Eggers’ horror film, which arrives on Christmas Day. “Does evil come from within us or from beyond?” she asks.
The film from The Lighthouse and The Witch writer and director follows haunted young woman Ellen Hutter and a vampire’s strong infatuation with her. Throughout the nearly two-minute trailer, townspeople begin to sense an evil approaching the town, that evil being Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok also known as Nosferatu.

In 2015, Netflix acquired the indie horror film “Circle,” which saw 50 strangers trapped in a room and forced to decide who would be the one survivor through a series of votes and debates about the worth of each human life.
Nearly a decade later, with the “12 Angry Men”-inspired project having become something of a cult hit, two producers of the film have reunited to create a sequel, “Circles.” Per the official logline, “17 years after being pawns in a cruel game of psychological warfare, the survivors of an invasion face a new threat.”

Former model Hunter Schafer made her acting debut on hit HBO series Euphoria – and with production on season 3 of that series being delayed while creator Sam Levinson reworks the scripts, The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Schafer has landed a lead role in the Prime Video limited series Blade Runner 2099 – which is, of course, a continuation of the franchise that began with the 1982 Ridley Scott film Blade Runner and then got a long-awaited follow-up called Blade Runner 2049, which had Denis Villeneuve at the helm, in 2017. Details on the role Schafer will be playing are being kept under wraps. She joins the previously announced Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) in the cast… and we don’t know anything about Yeoh’s character, either.
Blade Runner 2099 was originally expected to start shooting in Belfast last summer, but the Hollywood strikes put the kibosh on that plan.
