Innovative, part of Clarivate™, is proud to share that the St. Louis County Library District in Missouri is using Vega Program to help organize and publicize library events, and to allow their community to register for these events and book meeting rooms.
The St. Louis County Library District opened its first library in 1947, quickly followed by two additional branches. The library continued to grow in the 1960s and 70s with additional branches and expansions, leading to a total of 20 branches that serve St. Louis County area today. St. Louis County Library now serves over half a million cardholders and is the busiest library in Missouri and one of the largest libraries in the U.S. In 2022, St. Louis County Library (SLCL) and St. Louis Public Library (SLPL) merged catalogs and databases, allowing patrons to place holds and return items interchangeably across both systems, greatly enhancing access to materials.
SLCL events are geared for people of all ages, and include opportunities to connect with social services, tech classes, author lectures, periods to access legal advice, technology classes and workshops, story times, scavenger hunts, job counseling, gaming sessions, art classes, cooking classes, book clubs, yoga classes, improv classes, ukulele jam sessions, a storytelling festival, art contests and more.

Vega Program offers an interface that makes it easy for our staff to use to populate our events calendar, and easy for our community to navigate. Vega Program provides library event information online in an easy-to-access format, but also shows maps to find the correct location for each event, can generate flyers and emails for events, as well as handle registration and payment when applicable. Vega Program also provides an interface for reserving rooms at the library.
