Matthew McConaughey Shares Words Of Wisdom With Son Levi On 16th Birthday

Matthew McConaughey's oldest son, Levi, is officially 16 years old! The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days alum rang in the special occasion with a slideshow of precious moments that the father-son duo have shared in over the years, accompanied by a sentimental voice-over.

"Alright Levi...coming on that age buddy. About to be out on your own. Me and your mom hope we've done as good of a job as we can. You're not really going to have us as a safety net out there in the wonderful, wild world forever."

The actor continued, encouraging Levi to "see the good in everyone" while also paying attention to his surroundings.

"Just go out, enjoy. Be aware of your surroundings, be yourself. know when to say yes, know when to say no, know when to say maybe," he reiterated with a chuckle, "see the good in everybody else but know not everyone else is always paying attention. Take your time. Enjoy the journey."

McConaughey and wife Camila Alves also share children Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11. The pair started dating in 2006 and began growing their family two years later. They were married in 2012 (per Today) and have since offered small, insightful glimpses into their love story and parenting styles via social media despite strenuous schedules.
